This week started so well. We showed real guts on Saturday. We played a difficult away fixture against Sunderland and won in the dying minutes against a stubborn and organised side. On Thursday morning, I still struggle to comprehend how it was possible we played so badly against Milan.  I’m a huge Arsenal fan, but could and still cannot find any redeeming feature in the way we played. We were simply awful. And all we want to know is why?

There was nothing there on the pitch against Milan. I don’t get how the boys weren’t up for it.  We as fans were so HYPED up. AC Milan away is the reason we watch football. And nobody turned up! AT ALL! I get irritated when I hear things about personnel not being up to scratch and all that. This was almost the same team that lost 1-0 away to ManCity.  That was the best I’ve seen us play bar Dortmund at home. If we played like that I doubt we would have lost. I can’t fucking understand it. Sorry to curse but why? I understand things in different ways to others. Football is a job but unlike ours, we don’t have spectators and fans watching our every move.  We all have good days and bad days but we get into major shit if we don’t pitch up mentally. I refuse to believe that that was just a bad day. I struggle to think what Arsene said to the players at half time because nothing changed at all. Can he motivate them any longer?  We beat Wigan 4-0, because we are that much better than they are. Milan are in no way four goals better than us. I have seen them play a few times since we drew them for this stage and I thought that we could take them if we worked hard and watched certain players (Boateng, Ibra).  We did neither. Sagna, Vermaelen, Song and Arteta are players I have time for because of their intelligence. They did not look interested Wednesday night, like it didn’t bother them at all. And although I know most fans are angry, I feel like we’re just scratching our heads. What the fuck Arsene? Both of our captains were on the pitch and the performance was abject. I’ve stayed off all the blogs and podcasts I usually do cause I don’t want to be reminded of that performance in any way.

Tomorrow’s game is massive. If we crumble, all hell will break lose. If we win or draw, we stand a chance. I don’t think this team can win anything, even the FA Cup because of the glaring lack of consistency. We cannot afford to play like that for the rest of the season. I hope we can win tomorrow and come fourth but for the love of God I don’t know where we will get the performance from.
