On the 9th of December 2011 something special was unveiled at the Emirates stadium in honor or one of Arsenals greatest ever players. Thierry Henry paid an emotional tribute to Arsenal and his former team-mates after seeing himself immortalized as a bronze statue.

One month later the man was back, on loan at the club he loves for just 6 weeks from his current employer 'New York Red Bulls'. This was always going to be special for Thierry and the Arsenal fans but who could have foreseen the impact this aging player would make. Only back and featuring due to two of Arsenals forward men on duty at the African cup of nations, Thierry decided that he would enjoy any minute he could get expressing 'I'm like any other Arsenal fan, except I get to play on the pitch'!

What a great attitude this proved to be. Having already scored 226 goals for the mighty Arsenal, a record which holds him as all time 'most goals scored' for the club, Thierry featured in 5 more games as a substitute, scoring in 3!  The first as a super sub vs Leeds United in the FA cup. Just as Arsenal were facing a tricky away replay Thierry made the dream come back, scoring the only goal of the game, in typical Thierry style, to send the Gunners through to the next round and the Arsenal faithful into a frenzy.  This was what fairy tales were made of. Everyone so genuinely pleased for the man to come back and score in the way he did, on his first game since leaving to take the win, incredible stuff.

But wait it wasn't to end there, not for a player who is a fan on the pitch! Thierry upped his own record as the Club’s top-scorer by slotting home in a 7-1 victory with the final kick of the game vs Blackburn in this empathic premier league win.  More fairy tales, so surly that was it right??....

Saturday 11th February 2012 was to be the last premier league game Thierry would appear in, away to a strong Sunderland side. With the game tied at one all this was heading toward a well earned draw. Then at the death Henry did his thing, with the last kick of the game the ball was whipped into the box where who else, perfectly positioned having lost his marker, to side foot volley home!  and right in front of the traveling Arsenal faithful, It was the cue for pandemonium!

After the game the man himself said 'I became an Arsenal fan, so to score a goal for this club I'm always over the moon'.

Such passion for the club pushed him on that few percent more to give the very best he could.  In these days of money seemingly so important in this sport we love,  Henry's visit has been so refreshing, not just for Arsenal but for all of football, with such romance between a player and the club he loves!

Now with one final game to feature in, Arsenal visit the mighty AC Milan at the famous San Siro stadium.  This has all the makings for a classic encounter between these two greats of world football.  Could King Thierry have one last say?  Will he score one more as a perfect parting gift for his beloved Arsenal? Worth a bet on soccer betting odds!

Having now a total of 229 for Arsenal - Thierry Henry has now become
King Henry!.....Long Live the King!
