Park Chu-Young was born on 10th of July 1985 in Daegu, South Korea. Park became very popular in 2004 at the Asian Football Confederations Youth Championship where he led the U-20 national team and also received the award for the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. He was also capped for the U-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. Park has featured in national side during his career on all levels from U-20 to senior squad and represented his country in 2010 WC, 2010 Asian Games and 2011 Asian Cup. His inernational career is really impressive which might a be a slight worry for Arsene Wenger as he doesn´t like when players are used by their national side too often and pick up  unnecessary injuries.

Park played for Korea University before joining FC Seoul in 2005. In his first season for this club he scored 18 goals and had 4 assists in 30 appearances which earned him K-Leagues Best Player award. He was offered to PSV Eindhoven but the deal didn’t go through because of a transfer fee. 2006 World Cup wasn´t very successul one for him and it propably influenced his club career as he only managed to net 8 goals and 1 assist in 30 appearences. He impressed once again at the beginning of the season 2007/2008 by scoring 10 goals in 11 matches but soon he picked up a bad foot injury which kept him out for the rest of the season.

Clubs from Europe were keen on siging a young and talented player. AS Monaco won the race for Park Chu-Young. During his 3 years stay with the French side he managed to score 25 goals in 91 apps.

Arsene Wenger has once again proved he knows French market well. Estimated cost of Park Chu-Young is believed to be around £2.6 mil. plus add-ons. To be honest I don´t know what to expect from him at the moment. He seems to be a very good technical player with a great first touch.

We wish him all the best with Arsenal FC.
