Thank god it’s Sunday…last Sunday of this season’s Premiership that is.

It’s been a very frustrating season for us Gooners, I wish I could say the same for the Arsenal board, I‘ve got a feeling that they are quite happy with the financial side of things.

We could analyse last season in two ways; from the heart, with false high expectation and consider it to be a miserable failure or from the head, with realisation that the current Arsenal squad was never good enough to win a major competition such as the Premiership and consider finishing in the all-important top 4 position a reasonable outcome.

There should’ve been a third way; Arsenal started the season with a squad which was never good enough to win the English Premier League, but finished the season very strongly and won it by a country mile, thanks to Arsene Wenger’s   clever deals in the January transfer window… Or is this one for the daydreamers?

I firmly believe that if the boss had bought a Premiership quality goal keeper, a big burly centre back with leadership qualities and a top class defensive midfielder in the mid-season transfer window, those daydreams would’ve come through.

Arsenal’s last game of the season against Fulham reflected the way it’s been going for us this season, once again; bulk of the possession bla bla bla….yet failed to win the game.

Conceded from a counter attack when we were controlling the game, Van Persie (surprise, surprise) equalised with his 18th goal since January which equalled the EPL record, only to concede again from a header (how predictable). Walcott saved our blushes with a late goal. Vermaelen looking fully fit was one of the main positives to take out of this end of season, almost meaningless game.

All we can do now is to look forward to the summer pre-season and transfer window and hope that Mr Wenger has finally seen the light to make our dreams come true.
