Arsenal’s record against so called big 4 this season:
Played 6, won 2, lost 4.
It does not make a title winning reading you might think. But if you remember a couple years ago we had a great record against our big rivals but ended up finishing 21 points behind the leaders at the accustomed 4th place.

The following season (2007 – 2008) was the “should have/could have won the League” season. Losing to smaller teams was the main reason behind our heartbreak, not to mention Eduardo’s injury.

Where am I going with this? Let me give you some more very interesting statistics then you may decide if this unbiased mind of mine has been taken over by my very biased heart or NOT.

Title winning Manchester United’s Record against the top 4 teams last season:
Played 6, won 1, lost 4 and a draw.
But they destroyed smaller teams: Played 20, won 19, drawn 1

This season the statistics against smaller teams are:
Arsenal – Played 21, won 16, drawn 4, lost 1, Points = 52
Chelsea– Played 22, won 15, drawn 4, lost 3, Points = 49
Man. U – Played 22, won 14, drawn 3, lost 5, Points = 45

They have played 1 extra game each and still behind us in points. We all know about the remaining fixtures. That is why I believe we have a genuine chance of winning the big one.

We can dream, can’t we?
