Every football widow knows (or should know) that tonight was a very big night for Arsenal! Barcelona in the Champions League and a visit from Henry – the guy that that still loves Arsenal ….. But he left! No I don’t understand why he left; but then again I am a woman and logic says “why leave when you are loved and you love us too”?

My nails did not need doing tonight but as per our present superstitious fad ….. We are going to do my nails, as when my nails get done Arsenal do not lose! So all you Gunner fans out there – you owe me big time!! I had a hundred and one other things to do tonight but the happiness of my boys, the success of Arsenal and for the pure sanity of all you Gooners out there – yes I had my nails taken down a bit, buffed, polished and oiled!!!

I can say with complacency that it worked!!!

2-0 down we came back to make it 2-2 – fantastic result!

I did not watch the game –Rather loud and almost animal like sound effects coming from my living room enabled me to embark on a roller coaster of emotions that is probably only possible if I was actually in the Emirates Stadium myself!!

I did however see my 20 year old standing in the hallway at one point – the moment gorgeous hunky Fabregas was taking the penalty – my child with his hands on his head, distraught look on his face leaning against the wall as though his legs would give way at any moment …. It almost was enough for me to leave the nails and go console my boy! He probably would have been horrified at that kind of emotion and at that point in time and therefore I refrained.

My daughter did however tell me afterwards – through fits of laughter may I add – that apparently as the penalty went in, and my boys ran round my living room, shouting screaming at the top of their voices that a scream left my lips!!!

It was probably a scream of relief …..My home will be a happy home for a while – no moody males – no arguments – no moaning – no negative vibes ….Good Karma in my home!!!

We can buy the paper tomorrow – trust me if we had lost the head of our family (well he likes to think he is) actually bans the paper the next day!!!!

Last but not least I can go to work tomorrow and look the Man U supporters I work with in the eye and smile sweetly whilst waving my beautifully manicured hands!!!!!
