If at any time any pundit or stray supporter thought the Arsene Wenger was not an absolute football genius and absolutely brilliant talent judge, then perhaps at last your qualms have been calmed. We are 5th on the log, 5th! The same team that lost by THAT margin not 3 months ago. That loss instigated the purchase of a player that began the four goal mauling of Wigan. I was ecstatic ‘The Vitruvius’ ( insert a Le Bob swoon) scored first and that goals came from a different players. Gervinho finally scored and I predict a hat trick before the season is up (meaning I’ve just cursed him to a drought).

Even with the Manchester City loss, where three players with a value of £80 million of players combined to kick us out of the Carling Cup, I don’t feel as sad as I normally would.  Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain was truly a delight to watch, as were Frimpong and Coqulein who truly bossed the midfield. Miquel was not bad either although he is susceptible to a pacy winger. It is really fantastic to see this group play with so much confidence. The only sad thing about that loss was watching Park and Chamakh up front being shown up by an 18 year old. Park was awful and Chamakh was not much better. The latter was busy but not effective, although it is worth mentioning that Chamakh was not given any kind of decent service. The previous games, which included a win against Dortmund which was tremendous and a vexingly boring draw against Fulham. One can easily be the explanation of the other. Dortmund was a very difficult game and needed every last shred of energy the team had plus a classy bit of skill from Alex Song to win.  There was no doubt that although Wenger was irritated with the draw, it was a fair result.

That we are back to winning ways is once again a credit to Le Professor. The team, though not as brilliant as the last has come together as was clearly visible with all the goals against Wigan. The team seems to play for each other more, and celebrate more jovially, as was seen with Van Persie and Walcott combination. As his Highness Senor Arseblog stated, the team is made up of players who don’t see the progression in the Champions League as normal or see being in the top of the table as perfunctory; it means more to them and they consequently work harder. It seems this group is more grow up and mature which makes up for their more talented and less devoted teammates of 3 years ago ( I-de-buy-Whore, Na$ri BOOOOOO, and a guy who went to Barca, no, not that awesome one, who is nowhere to be found). I really do credit Arsene who has put together a decent first eleven and dare I say, first 17, who are quite capable to play for the first team. But I refer that no one notices our rise back to the top and we stay around the top 5 or 6 until crunch time. When hopefully A Very Boring Chelsea manager is fired for crashing out of CL and Adebywhore loses interest once again. Hopefully ManCity explodes under the weight of its wage bill and Wayne Rooney head butts someone so we can come first. No other team is a threat.

P.S “I went to a pizza place and asked for their most expensive sub. The manager wondered if I would be interested in The Fernando Torres”.
