Do we want him?: With Clichy reportedly on his way, the LB position within our team is looking a little vunerable. We have some good youth awaiting their chance, but, as we all agree "experience" is the order for the day in defence, they should perhaps be left developing on the back burner right now.

Would he be number one choice if we did purchase? If I was sure about Gibbs I would say no to Emilio but Kieran can´t be happy with his 2010-2011 season. Injury played its part but he didn’t show much of his talent when given first team opportunities.
Having arrived from Ipswich labelled an "unknown" or a “journeyman“ Izaguirre has won rave reviews for his performances and has just been crowned the 'Scottish Player of the Year' by his colleagues.
Liverpool FC, Everton and Aston Villa are also interested in Emilio which will undoubtedly increase the figure on his price tag.
There are other options being discussed amongst Gooners that would probably be more popular than Izaguirre for example Leyton Baines but there seems no doubt that he is a talented, hardworking player.

Do we need him?: Oh yes we do. He should be at the top of Arsene Wenger's summer transfers shopping list. Not only he's is one of the best, if not the best at defending against high balls which have been our archilles heel for the last few seasons, he is very decent on the floor. He is also known for his leadership qualities and is an established EPL player at the right age. It's no brainer, a must buy.
