Arsenal’s chance of winning the title has all but disappeared after another surrender of a 2 goal lead last night. Yes, it has a familiar ring to it or you could say that it has been the story of the season for us but I say it’s just not good enough.

I don’t want to do an injustice to a game which was a wonderful footballing spectacle – if you are a natural but from a Gooner point of view losing a 2 goal lead, yet again was sickening although it wasn’t surprising.

It has reached to a stage that I get reluctant to get happy and joyous when we score and I normally go mental. It is very worrying that it might be very difficult to shake off this reputation of being 'not able to defend a lead'. The other teams are in the knowledge of this fact, get their tails up and you know what happens next… we panic, forget about the fundamentals of defending and stupid mistakes happen, game after game.

It had all started so well for us when a piercing through ball by Fabregas put Walcott through and the young forward finished it with a well-placed low drive, within 5 minutes of the kick off.

In a typical fashion we surrendered our early lead within 2 minutes when Van Der Vaart scored despite being under pressure from Diaby.

It was quite impressive the way we responded to their equalizer and Nasri restored our lead in the 12th minute with a 25 yard drive. It was his first goal since the New Year’s Day.

We were the dominant force in the game now and could have added to our tally when Walcott was put through by Van Persie; unfortunately he dragged his low shot just wide.

Arsenal scored their well-deserved 3rd goal in the 40th minute; Gallas tried the chest a cross in his 6 yard box but miss controlled it, Walcott dinked a beautiful ball to far post for Van Persie whose header produced a stunning one handed save from Gomes luckily the Dutchman was on hand to convert the rebound.

Could we keep our two goal lead until the half time whistle and give ourselves a great chance to regroup during the break? Of course not, there were 5 long minutes left until the half time and it was no great surprise when they scored 3 minutes later with a sweet strike from Huddlestone.

When the second half started I knew we were not going to win this game; they were galvanized with the lifeline of their second goal gave them just before the break and we looked tired. Szczesny made a couple of decent saves but gave away a penalty when he rushed out and tripped Lennon for their equalizer.

We still managed the create chances, one of which Van Persie scored with a vicious curling shot but was wrongly called off side.

There is still hope, if both Chelsea and Arsenal beat the Manure in upcoming fixtures we could have 3 teams with the same amount of points but it looks like the only thing left for us to look forward to is the summer transfer window and it could be a make or break time for Le Boss.
