Definition of Convert - Change, Adapt, Alter, Exchange, Switch, Change over!!!

Something to ponder over – youngest son of mine has a lovely girlfriend – warm, funny, easy to talk to, sparkle in those beautiful brown eyes …. And if you are ever lucky enough to be amongst us, notice the way she gazes lovingly into my son’s eyes – all 5ft 2 of her standing on tiptoes to look into my 6ft 1 son’s equally gorgeous brown eyes!!!

What more could you want – your son is happy – his girlfriend is utterly charming ……. Now comes the clanger – she does not support Arsenal!

Some might think this is a problem – obviously not for my youngest who may actually think he can convert her?

Change her mind to support a team that has not won anything for the last six years.

Alter her opinion of Man U who annoyingly are an exceptionally good team

Exchange from one team to another for the love of your boyfriend?

Switch sides – all those years of love and support thrown down the drain because the love of your life supports the rival team?

Change over to another team, which means great changes to the wardrobe – out with the Man U shirts – in with the AFC socks!!

Let’s stop right there – relationships with mixed football teams work!!! Well it would not for me as my hubby is old school and his wife supporting another team apart from AFC is unspeakable and not at all to be considered.

However I have seen it work – our lovely Lindsay is married to a …. Dare I say it!! ….. Tott supporter! Yes!! You heard it TOTTENHAM!! But it works – Lindsay just don’t take no shit from him and considering both track records (until sort of recently – god I wish Harry would just go and manage England) AFC are far more superior on the pitch, off the pitch etc.

So when it comes to my son and his Man U supporting girlfriend – I say its cool – keeps the fire alive!  Everyone is entitled to their own football team and no my son will not be converting her.

The lovely Chhaya can carry on supporting her Man U and when we knock them off top spot, my son will wipe her tears whilst beaming with pride and passion for the team he believes in and loves.
