Season has ended!

By Ilch

I have not written a blog for a while now, choosing to take a step back and let those around me, who know so much about Arsenal, do the talking or in this case the blogging!!  At this present moment in time the talking, debating, arguing, differences of opinion and slagging off are way beyond my league!!

Don't get me wrong for a woman (of my age - not that old!! but not that young either) I do know a fair bit - my friends and workmates (of similar age group to me) are somewhat baffled that I do actually read the sports pages of the paper and not stop once I have read my star sign!!

However I have to share my opinions with you all so please be forgiving and understanding to my perhaps lack of knowledge which obviously comes from not being such a fanatic but more a supporter who actually does have a life whether Arsenal win or lose!!

It is obviously somewhat frustrating that our hero of a manager - Arsene, has sort of let the supporters down.  He is our hero and always will be - there will never be another like him.
We have sold exceptionally good players but not replaced with like-for-like in quality!  We have not spent as much money as other teams - and some of those teams are not even as wealthy or successful as ours! Why?  That is the important question!

The question also asked recently was "Is it in Wenger we trust" my answer would be YES!  Ok maybe you disagree with that but hey you are entitled to your opinion.

Wenger has lifted AFC up, bought the club forward in a way we could never have imagined and I do not for one minute think that this fine gentleman has done this on his own. He has played a massive part in it but he does have back up. The players answer to Wenger - Wenger answers to the Board of Directors - unlike some of you out there I do not think that the buck ends with Wenger - so can we stop blaming him please?

If the board of Directors - the big boys at the top earning the mega bucks wanted to they could do something about this - they hire and they can fire and lets make no mistake they hold the purse strings.  They could enforce buys or seeing as Arsene is such a open minded, intellegent guy, they could have a meeting and put it to him that AFC will be buying players, do you really think Arsene would say NO!  I don't think so!

I think that our stadium has somewhat crippled us - held us back - ironically it is the very stadium that has in everyones eyes taken us forward - but we are stuck - not progressing past 3rd or 4th in the premiership whereas once upon a time we thought 2nd was naff!!

I don't know what the solution is - I would suggest hiring out the pitch for boot sales every Sunday - unless there is game or couse but can you imagine the groundsmens horror!!

Maybe the bar - lounge area can be hired out - fancy having a birthday party there - awesome!

There are lots of way that money can be made from the Stadium's facilities - but let us be realistic the Emirates takes a lot of looking after and that means a lot of money spent.

I think the big boys above are just going to have to accept that money has to be spent and if the figures at the end of the year do not look good - don't worry - win some silverware and then you will come out of the red and even clear up that large overdraft!!

Basically the answer is you have to spend to win!!

Maybe it is time for Mr Wenger to put his foot down and demand - however big boys at the top don't take too kindly to Managers getting beyond thermselves so hence the hesitancy me thinks!

I don't know if I got it right and for those of your who disagree, namely my husband - Sorry!

I know one thing for certain - we need to buy players of high quality and we need to do everything in our power not to lose our captain - our Cesc.

If Cesc goes I do fear that Wenger will follow and not through choice!!!!!
