The Season Ends on a Whimper at Wigan
Did I say a couple of weeks ago “Stop this train I wanna get off?” We are well and truly off now. So far off the train in fact that we are already in doors, clutching our half eaten kebabs, passed out on the sofa snoring and drooling chilli sauce.
What a horrible week! We started it by laughing our arses off at Tottenham’s defeat to the lowly Pompey in an FA Cup semi final nobody thought they’d lose. The middle saw us beaten by said scum in the League for the first time in 11 years. That was as much fun as eating your own poo served on a bed of fresh dog spunk. The end saw Manure’s evil ginger pop in a last minute special to deny Citeh, the Spuds doing everyone a favour by beating Chelski (throwing in a Brucey bonus JT ban) leaving just us to beat Wigan Athletic, relegation candidates, to yet again have a chance at top spot. Well we were an embarrassment, 2 nil up and then 3 – 2 defeated. The butt of everyone’s jokes yet again.
So that’s it, any small, slim, chink of hope extinguished stone dead and nothing to look forward to but probably a torrid time securing 3rd. It seems so ironic that the team who never gave up all season, who fought tooth and nail to claw back into the championship race time and time again, just gave up and did die on Sunday. Proper brown bread. The official end of season cannot come quick enough for me and that transfer portal had better be ready to accept a few offerings into the vortex. I am wondering if we have a cheque book big enough to fill the holes we all believe we have. I am sure the summer will be crammed with blogs, discussion boards and beer garden conversations all demanding sales and pleading for purchases. Wenger is making all the right noises for once and is talking about some big financial backing so fingers crossed it will be spend spend spend.
When the dust settles we’ll all realise that we hugely overachieved this year with this current squad and those injuries. But right now dammit, it hurts and hurts bad. Mauled by Barca, twice thumped apiece by Manure and the Chavs, Adebayor’s celebrations at Eastlands, Ramseys’ leg, beaten by the Spuds and humiliated by fucking Wigan. If life was Sky Plus I would delete this season from my planner immediately.
Next up we are at home to Manchester City and the return of the twat - Adebayor. It will also see the ex Gunners Patrick Viera (Legend) and Kolo Toure take to the Emirates turf alongside him. Have to say I’ve gone off Toure recently. He left Arsenal after becoming a shadow of the player he once was, went up North to a fantastic contract his performances probably did not deserve and has not stopped moaning since. Sticking up for Adebayor, grousing about Gallas, quibbling about players we should have signed, complaining about the atmosphere in our dressing room, discussing our finances, the list goes on and on and on. Most footballers have absolutely nothing intelligent to add to the world. Why The Sun continues to pay big bucks for their drivel I do not know, but hey they also employ Harry Redknapp so clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel is their ethos. (The lone argument against gagging them all is Andrei Arshavin. You must check out his official site, it is truly hilarious.)
Anyway they are involved with the Scum in a 2 horse race for CL football next season so some would say even a defeat would have an up-side. I am not one of those people. I have nowt against Citeh, I actually really like Tevez as both a player and a man, but I want to thrust 10 goals without reply down the throat of Adebayor until he throws up thick bile over his own face and then Van Persie, with his chocolate leg, kicks his head off his shoulders and into the back of the net for goal number 11. What a lanky little irritant that guy has turned out to be. Poor old Ade ‘who-the-fuck-would-you-be-without-Arsenal’ Bayor and we thought Cashley was fucking ungrateful! He is really is the poster boy of cunts.
We still have the same, long, boring, trophy-hampering injury list and they have a forward line up that 4 scored in 20 minutes against Burnley. And yes I am comparing our defending to that of Burnley. So yet again we need a performance by absolutely everyone, from front to back. Worrying huh? It seems that the only thing we have to look forward to is to jeer and direct the anger regarding our own inadequacies against our former player. Sadly it’s all we have left.
COME ON YOU GUNNERS.
